The Mt. Edgecumbe Lady Braves JV team won their first home game against Thunder Mountain Falcons last Friday night.

Lady Braves did well when they had travelled to Juneau for the Juneau Jamboree last weekend, winning most of their games.

"The volleyball team performed greater than expected. Lady Braves are ready to have a great season," says Coach Mahoney.

The Lady Braves played energetically, and dedicated to winning their first home game, making several students wearing togas in the stands proud. Every first volleyball home game, the students who attend wear white bedsheets, or “togas” to show their support for the Lady Braves.

Everything is quiet until they head to the court to warm up at 4:15 sharp. Their game against Thunder Mountain High will be starting shortly, where whoever wins will to score 25 points and beat best of 5.

Varsity travels to Fairbanks this week to play against Monroe Catholic Thursday at 1:00. C team plays Thursday at 4:30 after school in the Mt. Edgecumbe gym. JV/C team plays Friday after school at Sitka High School gym.
